Clocked Golf (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Clocked Golf mobile application and website at clocked.golf. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account or use the app:

• Full name, username, email address, and password
• Date of birth (used for age verification — we do not collect data from users under 13)
• Hometown and home golf course
• Handicap index and golf score history
• Round data including course name, tee time, finish time, group size, transport method, and pace of play responses
• Referral codes and referral relationships
• Device information and app usage data collected automatically
• Push notification tokens for delivering alerts
• Location data (used only for “Near You” course suggestions — optional)
• Tournament application details (team name, partner name and contact info, handicap, Instagram handle, and your written response) if you apply to a Clocked Golf event such as The Shot Clock Invitational
• Sponsorship inquiry details (name, company, email, phone, and message) if you submit a partnership inquiry through our website

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your Clocked Golf account
• Calculate and display your Clocked Score and Handicap Index
• Generate leaderboards and course statistics
• Send push notifications about your Clocked Score, friend activity, course updates, and challenges
• Improve the accuracy of course baselines and pace of play data
• Respond to your questions and support requests
• Send product updates and announcements (you may opt out at any time)
• Prevent fraud and ensure platform integrity
• Review and respond to tournament applications and sponsorship inquiries

3. Information We Share

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• Publicly visible data: Your username, Clocked Score, and round history are visible to other Clocked Golf users on leaderboards and course profiles
• Service providers: We use Supabase for database and authentication, Expo for app delivery, and Resend for transactional email. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction

4. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to Know: You may request information about the personal data we collect, use, and disclose
• Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
• Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal information. If this changes, we will provide a “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app Settings or by contacting us at hello@clocked.golf. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and authenticated API access. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We request location permission solely to display nearby golf courses in the “Near You” section. Location data is not stored on our servers and is not used for advertising or shared with third parties. You may deny location permission and the app will function normally without the “Near You” feature.

9. Push Notifications

We use push notifications to deliver updates about your Clocked Score, friend activity, challenges, and course leaderboards. You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Your push notification token is stored securely and used only to deliver notifications from Clocked Golf.

Regardless of your location, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time
• Disable push notifications through your device settings
• Disable location access through your device settings

The app integrates with the following third party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com/privacy)
• Expo — app framework and push notifications (expo.dev/privacy)
• Resend — transactional email (resend.com/privacy)
• Apple App Store — app distribution (apple.com/legal/privacy)
• GolfCourseAPI — course data
• Google Places — course photos and location data (policies.google.com/privacy)
• Netlify — hosts clocked.golf and processes our website sign-up form (netlify.com/privacy)

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the effective date above. Your continued use of Clocked Golf after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
